Subject: parsing of VPATH in make

There doesn't seem to be an ade-utils list, and this doesn't seem to
fit under the straight ade list, so I'm sending this here.
I've got a version of make from the ftp.amigalib.com that's dated
8 December 1995 (the archive is dated 29 December 1995). ixemul version
41.5.
The following line (from the genscript Makefile) isn't being parsed
correctly:
VPATH = /SD0/genscript-1.2.20:/SD0/genscript-1.2.20/compat
When make processes the makefile, I get a requester requesting
drive "/SD0/genscript-1.2.20". Is this a remnant of an earlier
attempt to provide AmigaOS volume name compatibility?
If more info is needed, please let me know!
